EXCLUSIVE! Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain actor Sandeep Anand files for divorce; says, 'I got married to a girl who I didn't love'

TV actor Sandeep Anand, who has been a part of several sitcoms including the popular show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, has got separated from his wife. BollywoodLife has exclusively learnt that his arranged marriage hit a rough patch some time back due to compatibility issues. A reliable source close to the actor revealed to us that the two have filed for divorce and have already started living separately. When we got in touch with Sandeep, who played the lead in May I Come in Madam?, the actor shared his apprehension while shedding light on his personal life. When we probed further, the actor confirmed the news. "These days, relationship in the metros are not working," he remarked.
The actor got married to his wife in 2012. However, as he mentioned in the chat, he had never spoken about his married and personal life as he wanted to be in news for his work and nothing else. While speaking about it for the first time with BollywoodLife, the actor revisited the days when he got hitched and the conditions under which the marriage happened. "I'm still confused whether I should speak about it or not," he initially contemplated. However, taking a deep breath, the actor continued, "I hail from a small town, Ujjain. So, when I came to Mumbai in 2006, I got a few shows due to my theatre experience. And soon under my parent's pressure, I got married, only for their happiness. I got married to a girl who I was not in love with. Soon I realised we both were different. She is from a small town, while I'm in Mumbai. Different culture and different society! But I had some responsibility, so I tried making things better. And I gave seven years of my life to my marriage. I tried hard to work on it, but it didn't work out and things fell apart.
The 31-year-old confirmed filing for a divorce and getting one in the near future. "Yes, we have filed for divorce. It s been almost a year since we got separated. I have moved on from my life, and even she has moved on. The estranged couple also have a son together, however, the kid currently stays with the wife.
As the series of questions flooded, Anand candidly confessed that the divorce was a decision he had taken, while his wife wanted to still be with him. "It was not mutual. It is my decision! I thought I have a life and I could do more since I'm ambitious. And I'm very happy with my decision. While many may think that it was a selfish move by Anand, the actor is quite clear with his thoughts. "If I'm not happy then why should I not move on? This goes for everyone," he concluded..
