The Chinchwad police on Sunday booked a man for repeatedly raping and blackmailing a 38-year-old married woman.Police said the suspect was in a relationship with the woman, who lives in Thane, before her marriage. The suspect allegedly raped the woman twice in different locations — Ulhasnagar in Thane district and Chinchwad — last November and blackmailed her for Rs1 lakh.The woman lodged a police complaint on Sunday. The man has been booked under sections 376 (rape), 385 (putting person in fear of injury in order to commit extortion) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code , As Reported By TOI.
According to the Newspaper,“We have transferred the case to the Thane police for further probe,” a police officer said.Police said the two got back in touch last November. The suspect allegedly took the woman to a hotel in Ulhasnagar and raped her. He then called her to Chinchwad and raped her again.
