During the Sabarimala movement in Kerala, BJP did a lot of hard work, but victory took the Congress hands. You can tell Kerala's results in this line. Congress has won 19 out of 20 seats in the state with component parties. There was a lot of anger in the majority of the issues related to the Sabarimala issue and at the same time, the minorities also got together. For this reason, Congress got big victory in this state of south India.

The manner in which the Hindu mobilization took place in Kerala about the Sabarimala issue, it was new to Kerala. Although this should have been benefited by the Bharatiya Janata Party, but it did not happen. It was not that the efforts of the party were not made about this. Since October last year, the government of Pinarai Vijayan attempted to implement the verdict in which the women of the age group of 10 to 50 years were allowed to go to Sabarimala temple.

This issue was not less than any boon for the Sangh Parivar. And finally for BJP, there was a golden opportunity to register their presence in the state. In this state, the party has been strong enough for many decades as an organization, but when it comes to elections, it remains on the margins.

The BJP started the movement in this state with the issue. It lasted for about three months. During this period hundreds of workers were also put in jail. The people, who believed in Hinduism, felt this attempt of the party, but this feeling could not be transformed into votes. The vote share of the party increased by just 0.5 percent. In the 2016 assembly elections where it got 15.01 percent of the votes, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, this percentage increased to 15.06 percent. In the three seats where the Sabarimala issue was likely to have the biggest impact, the party had raised its strongest candidates, but there was no expected result.

Where is the omission
A big reason behind this is the cross voting of Voters who sympathize with the BJP is also being considered as one of the main reasons. These voters probably thought that if the Vijayanan government has to teach a lesson, then Congress may be a better option. The idea worked as to when the fight between LDF and UDF, why would it be bad to give their vote to the BJP. At the same time, there was some weight with BJP which did not go to her side in Kerala.

While most Hindus were convinced that the BJP was working hard to save the tradition of Sabarimala, but they were unable to dig in the other states of the country and were unable to digest the many other issues with which the party's alleged There are allegations of being attached to the form.

And after this, after announcing Rahul Gandhi's election with Wayanad, the atmosphere got strengthened in favor of the Congress. Swami Chidanandpuri, the patron of the Sabarimala Karma Committee, whose speeches further fueled the agitation against the entry of women in the temple, appealed to open general Hindus to vote for defeating LDF.

The BJP was expected to win the seats in Thiruvanapuram, Trichur and Pathanamthitta but it did not happen. Here the Nair Service Society, which is an organization of alleged upper-caste Nair, had put a lot of emphasis on saving the tradition of Sabarimala.

This organization was also a chief petitioner on the issue in the Supreme Court. It supported the BJP's movement but did not vote. They believed that if the central government brought an ordinance on this issue then this problem could easily be resolved, but he did not do it. This led to suspicion about the BJP in the minds of the organization. He was forced to think whether the party is actually protecting Hindu traditions or wants to use the feelings of Hindus?

So, in such a scenario, the Congress, which seems to be marginalized at a time, proved to be the winner. Senior BJP leader and first MLA in Kerala Rajagopal also accepted it. What he said in the regional language was that the one who was looking at the most at the same time went on to the forefront.

Its biggest example is Thiruvananthapuram seat. The party had the highest expectation from Kummanam Rajshekharan, the party's candidate contesting from here. In 2014, he was second in the seat, but this time he got one percent fewer votes than last time. Last time Shashi Tharoor won this seat with just 15 thousand votes and in 2019 he won by nearly one lakh votes.

BJP candidates did effective performance in the seats of Trichur and Pathanamthitta. Due to the Sabarimala movement on the Pathanamthitta seat, the BJP's state unit will get about three lakh votes for the convenience of the General Sanketari. However, he remained third in the triangular fight. This story is about Trichoor's seat for Suresh Gopi from actor-turned-politician. Distressed Hindu voters may have disappointed the BJP.
