Since when are tariffs getting expensive?
Airtel and Vodafone-Idea prepaid plans with increased prices will be applicable from December 3. At the same time, Reliance Jio has announced to increase prices from 6 December.

How much money will have to be paid?

Airtel has said that its tariff prices have increased from 50 paise to Rs 2.85 per day. Vodafone-Idea has announced an increase in tariff prices by 42%. At the same time, Jio has said that its plans will be expensive up to 40%, in which customers will get 300% more benefits than other companies.

Unlimited calling limit fixed

Reliance Jio has recently imposed an IUC of 6 paise per minute for calls from Jio to other networks. Now Vodafone-Idea and Airtel are also seen to be following this path. Both companies have introduced FUP (Fair Use Policy) with their unlimited calling plan. Under this, the limit has now been fixed for calling other networks. After the fixed limit, customers will have to pay 6 paise per minute to call other networks.
Base plan up to 40% costlier

Airtel and Vodafone-Idea's cheapest plans with a validity of 28 days have become 40% costlier. This Rs 35 plan with 100 MB data for 28 days has now become Rs 49. At the same time, a Rs 65 plan with 200 MB data has now become Rs 79. Its price has increased by 21%.

How expensive is Airtel's popular plans?

Airtel's unlimited calling and data plans of Rs 249 (28 days validity) and Rs 448 (82 days validity) plans are now Rs 298 and Rs 598 respectively. The plan of Rs 598 will get 84 days validity. In the plan with a validity of 28 days, 1000 and 84 days validity plans will get 3000 FUP minutes. After these minutes are over, you will have to pay 6 paise per minute for making calls from Airtel to other networks, whereas earlier this was not the case.

How expensive are Vodafone's popular plans?

The price of Vodafone's 84-day validity unlimited plans has increased by 50%. Plans of Rs 399 and Rs 511 have now become Rs 599 and Rs 699. However, in the plan of Rs 399, 1 GB of data was available daily, while 599 will get 1.5 GB of data per day. In the plan of Rs 511, 2 GB data was available daily, which will also be available for Rs 699. Earlier, both these plans used to offer unlimited calling, while now both these plans will get 3000 FUP minutes for calls on other networks.

Airtel 365-day validity plans

Before the price increase, Airtel used to offer two plans with 365 days validity, which are 998 and 1699 rupees. Now their price has been reduced to Rs 1498 and 2398 respectively. In the plan of Rs 998, 12 GB data was available, while Rs 1498 will get 24 GB data. 1.5 GB of data was available daily for Rs 1699, which will also be available in the plan of Rs 2398. However, earlier plans used to get unlimited calling on other networks, while now these two plans will get 12000 FUP minutes.

Vodafone 365 day plan

Vodafone plans with 365 days validity, 999 and 1699 rupees have now become 1499 and 2399 rupees. With the plan of Rs 999, 12 GB and Rs 1699 plan used to get 1.5 GB data daily. Now, Rs 1499 plan will get 12,000 FUP minutes and 24GB data, while Rs 2399 plan will get 12,000 FUP minutes and 1.5GB data daily. Earlier, with both these plans, unlimited calling was also available on other networks.

So the days of free calling may be over
Industry analysts say that in the next 6-9 months, telecom companies can start charging to make calls on their network (sem network) as well. Due to this, the trend of dual-sim can increase once again.

100 million mobile phone customers will be affected

About 100 crore mobile subscribers will be affected due to the increase in tariffs. In September, Vodafone-Idea had more than 31.10 crore users and Airtel had around 28 crore subscribers. At the same time, Jio Pass had around 35.5 crore prepaid customers.
