India needs to lead a review of WhatsApp's security frameworks following disclosures that a spyware abused vulnerabilities in the Facebook-claimed informing stage, the nation's innovation serve said on Thursday.

The Indian Computer Emergency Team (CERT-In) "looked for accommodation of data from WhatsApp on November 9, 2019, including a need to lead a review and examination of WhatsApp's security frameworks and procedures," Ravi Shankar Prasad told parliament in an announcement.
