As of April 1st, brands like Xiaomi, Realme Samsung and OPPO, among others, increased the prices of a number of smartphones in India. Smartphones like the Redmi Note 9 Pro, Realme 6 Pro, Samsung Galaxy M31, and more, now come with new prices. The hike is due to the new GST rate on mobile phones that has been increased to 18 percent from 12 percent effective April 1st.

The rising costs of components due to the coronavirus pandemic and depreciating Indian rupee against the US dollar are also factors that have influenced the price hikes. As a result, smartphones in India are now costlier by as much as 6 percent on both online and offline stores across the country.

Redmi Note 9 Pro price in India has been revised to Rs 13,999 from Rs 12,999 for the base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The 6GB RAM variant now costs Rs 16,999 instead of Rs 15,999. The Realme 6 Pro has also received Rs 1,000 price hike. It’s now selling at Rs 17,999, up from its launch price of Rs 16,999. The Samsung Galaxy M31 price, meanwhile, has been increased to Rs 16,856 from Rs 15,999 for the 6GB + 64GB variant and Rs 17,910 from Rs Rs 16,999 for the 6GB + 128GB storage option.

The starting price is now Rs 16,499 instead of Rs 14,999. For Realme 6, users will now have to pay Rs 1,000 more on its launch price.

The Redmi Note 8 Pro is now available at a starting price of Rs 15,999, up from Rs 14,999, while the mid-range OPPO Reno 3 Pro will set you back to Rs 31,990 instead of Rs 29,990. The POCO X2 has received a price hike of Rs 1,000 across variants.

The base 6GB + 64GB will now cost Rs 16,999 instead of Rs 15,999, while the 6GB + 128GB model sets you back by Rs 17,999 from Rs 16,999.

The top-end 8GB + 256GB variant of POCO X2 will retail at Rs 20,999, up from its previous selling price of Rs 19,999.

Lastly, the Redmi Note 8 and Realme X2 price in India have been increased by up to Rs 1,000. The former can now be fetched from the major e-commerce platforms and offline stores at a starting price of Rs 10,999, while the Realme X2 is selling at Rs 17,999.
