Nokia took shares iTelefonono, a Finnish government venture in 1987, and by 1992 Nokia started selling Nokia Communications by selling all its non-mobile businesses. In 1992, the company launched Nokia 1011, the first digital GSM phone called Nokia. This phone was launched on November 10, so the model was named 1011.

Nokia-history-Hindi

Nokia 101 came with Ariel only in 1992, followed by Nokia 2110 in 1994 with a ringtone. The Nokia 8110 arrived in 1996, the Nokia 6110 came with new features in 1997 and the Nokia 8810 with no external antenna in 1998 among buyers. This period was of feature phones but in the same year Nokia made a big effort on the smartphone and the company launched 9000 Communicator. All these phones have made history and on the basis of this, Nokia has succeeded in becoming the number 1 mobile manufacturer, leaving behind the then giant Motorola and Ericsson.

Nokia becomes king

However, Nokia's success story did not stop here. All the phones of the company were writing a new history of success. Nokia 6650, Nokia's first 3G phone came in 2002, only in 2002 Nokia launched its firscolouror mobile 7650. Nokia also introduced its first video record capable model Nokia 3650 in 2002. In 2003, Nokia unveiled the video game N-Gage, which introduced mobile users to new gaming features.

However, in 2003, there was a phone which is still seen somewhere and destroyed all the records of the cell. Yes! I am talking about Nokia 1100. The Nokia 1100 made a record with 250 million unit cells worldwide.

Nokia's N Series, which came in 2005, N 95 with the company's N 71, N 81 did wonders. Apart from this, the phones of ExpressMusic and 'E' series were also covered in people's tongues. Alam was that till 2005, more than 6per cent of the mobile market was ruled by only Nokia phones. At the same time, Nokia Symbian OS occupied 8per cent of the market, despite the giants like Blackberry in smart OS.

Nokia started being out of sight

However, Nokia's status began to decline after 2007. The smartphone market was growing and Nokia used Symbian OS for this. The Apple iPhone 3G was launched in 2007 and the same year Android arrived. Symbian OS was very advanced in 1998 but even after 10 years, it did not see much improvement and its usage was limited. In such a situation, in the smartphone market, the company started losing its reign. It also lagged behind technology adoption. Where other companies were focusing on dual sim only in 2007-08. At the same time, Nokia introduced its first dual sim phone in 2010. This also affected its feature phone market.

Amid continuous competition from Android, the company decided to leave Symbian but did not adopt Android. In 2011, the company launched Windows Phone, but the attempt was unsuccessful and Samsung's Galaxy Android phone, compared to Nokia, started writing a new story of success. Nokia's smartphone shipments in 2012 saw a 6per cent drop compared to 2010.

Apple's iPhone broke Nokia's reign in the smartphone market in 2011. At the same time, Nokia's reign came as another blow when South Korean company Samsung overtook it in 2012 in the entire mobile business. After this Nokia tried but never got up properly.

And sold Nokia

In 2011, the company expected from the Asha model in feature phones but got disappointment. At the Mobile World Congress, Nokia launched its 808 model, which was the most powerful camera phone of its time. After this great phones like Nokia Lumia 960 and Lumia 1020 came but people rejected the Windows operating system. Finally, on September 03, 2013, Microsoft announced the acquisition of Nokia and the company had a sad ending.

Microsoft - Nokia Deal

Nokia-history-Hindi

Microsoft acquired Nokia's mobile business for $ 7.17 billion. After this acquisition, Nokia was left with only the network equipment business while Microsoft has a mobile business. Under the deal, all 32,000 employees of Nokia's Device & Services fell under Microsoft. However, the acquisition was completed on 25 April 2014. Microsoft acquired the brand names of Nokia X, Asha and Lumia, which was held by Microsoft only till December 2015. After this, its authority was to go to Nokia again. In addition, Microsoft licensed the feature phone for 10 years. As per the acquisition rules, Microsoft did not take control over Nokia Tune and after December 2015, Nokia could make a phone under its own name. For one year from 2014, Microsoft had authority over Nokia's website and social media. Although Microsoft introduced some Lumia and Asha phones after the acquisition, the company soon stopped manufacturing the phones due to heavy losses.

New Nokia

As it is known, since 2016, the way for Nokia phones to come again has been cleared. In 2016, Microsoft gave the rights to manufacture feature phones to Taiwanese company FoxconnFOXCONNON). At the same time, after December 2015, the NOKIA brand name was again transferred to Nokia from Microsoft. The company gave the name of the Nokia brand to Finland-based company HMD Global OY for ten years. Nokia phones are now being manufactured by Foxconn and HMD Global. Under this, the company first introduced the Nokia 6 model on 8 January 2017. At the same time, the company has so far introduced iconic models like Nokia 5 Series, Nokia 3 Series, Nokia 3310 and Banana Phone.

Why is Nokia's discussion again

Nokia-history-Hindi

Although new Nokia phones have become available in India since 2017t there is a lot of discussions on yet again. The reason for this is HMD Global Vice PresidenSummitit Singh Kochhar said in an interview to a website that "India is the largest mobile market in the world and the Indian market is equally important for the Nokia brand." He further added that "Nokia is preparing to expand the manufacturing of its phones in India. The company plans that in the coming time, feature phones and smartphones of the Nokia brand should be made in India itself and from here those smartphones should be exported to different parts of the world. ” Since then, there is a lot of discussion among Indian users about Nokia phones.

Nokia has been a fan of Made in India since its beginning

Nokia-history-Hindi

You may not know that the first testing of mobiles was done in India in 1995 and this testing was done othe n Nokia network only. It was only in 1995 that Nokia entered the Indian market and maintained its dominance in the Indian mobile handset market for almost a decade and a half. Nokia was the first mobile company to start a manufacturing unit in India. Along with understanding the needs of Indian consumers, the company designed phones with very cheap, flashy and life tools. Nokia set up its manufacturing unit at Sriperubundur near Chennai in 2006 and at that time the company invested around $ 250 million. More than 5per cent of the phones manufactured in this unit were exported to 59 countries.

The company launched 3210 models in the Indian market with its menu in Hindi.

Similarly, the company launched the Nokia 1100 in 2003, which was the first phone made specifically for Indian consumers. This phone had a flashlight, the magic of which hit the heads of Indian consumers. Nokia developed a life tool specifically to provide farmers with weather and market information. This tool was also available in phones priced at Rs 1000 and even an illiterate person could easily use it. This experiment of Nokia was quite successful. The importance of the Indian market for Nokia could be understood from the fact that India accounted for 1per cent of the company's total global sales.

But with the end of Nokia, all hopes were also lost. Now once again the phone is discussed. In such a situation, the hopes of the new Nokia have resurfaced and it seems that in the coming days, the company is going to establish itself in India in a big way and again we will see the same glow of Nokia.
